About Lilli-anne Price

Controlling the Chaos,
The Deconstruction of Perfection.

I am an award winning plein air painter and equestrian enthusiast, calling the scenic Steinbeck Hills in Monterey CA home for the past 30 years.

My work is a balance of chaos and calm, rendered through a muted palette  enriched with moments of saturation. My paintings capture nature at its most piognat moments infusing a sense of angst and eliminating any possibility of boredom. Thick and thin layers of oil paint coalesce in a dance that defines the transient beauty of my subjects.

The subjects of my artwork are chosen with an intuitive eye for seascapes, landscapes and horses. Each scene is imbued with a dramatic atmosphere , breathing life through action and color.   I am drawn to these elements because they encapsulate the spirit and urgency of the moment, making each painting a narrative .

My inspiration is deeply rooted in the boundless energy of  Mother Nature and the myriad of emotions that arise from everything within her realm.  These inspirations fuel my work, pushing me to explore and capture the essence of nature's untamed beauty.

In my technique, I utilize washes to build scenes organically, allowing them to evolve in their own direction. This process of creation involves following the inherent path of a scene, using lost and found edges, and juxtaposing thick and thin paint. It is a dance that crescendos into the final vision of artwork, making each piece a unique journey .
